Fees and Payments

We provide our clients with multiple payment options, letting you pick what option works best for you:

Retainer:

Most clients will pay a Retainer initially at the start of a court case.  Those funds will be deposited into a trust account and used for  legal fees and other costs, such as court filing fees. If the case ends and money remains in the trust account, the client receives a refund. An additional retainer may be requested later in the case and clients may also opt to replenish their retainer at any time after the initial amount has been exhausted.  The amount of the retainer is not a prediction of the total cost of the case, but simply a deposit against future fees.

Monthly Basis:

In certain cases, clients may be elect to pay their invoices in full on a monthly basis rather than replenishing their retainer.  All invoices paid on this basis must be paid within 30 days and we do reserve the right to request that an additional retainer be paid if we anticipate a large volume of work in any given month (for instance when we are going to be in a lengthy mediation or trial).

Third Party Payment:

In some instances, clients will have a family member or friend assist them with their legal fees. If someone other than the client will be responsible for paying legal fees, the family member or friend can decide to either pay a retainer or be charged on a monthly basis.

Hourly Rates for Legal Services:

Our attorneys bill at an hourly rate of $250.00 per hour.  There is no standard retainer, but our attorneys will quote you a retainer at the end of the free phone consultation that will reflect the work anticipated to represent you and care for your legal needs.

Discount for Military Members and First Responders.

We do offer a 10% discount on our fees for current and retired members of the armed services and first responders.  Please let us know if you have served in this way so that we can ensure you receive this discount.

Mediation:

Our hourly rate is $200.00 per hour.  For a half-day mediation (4 hours), the cost is $800 and normally each party puts down a $400 retainer in advance.  For a full-day mediation (8 hours), the cost is $1,600 and normally each party puts down a $800 retainer in advance.  If mediation is concluded prior to the expiration of the time allotted, then you will receive a refund of the unused portion.
